How to get more songs [Song pack inside!]
Inspired by my love of music and my frustration that everyone has a different version of Hotel California, I've compiled 190 songs and want to share them with all fellow music lovers on Starbound!

Don't know how to get new songs for your instruments? It's easy! Just follow these simple steps:
1. Download {LINK REMOVED}
2. Extract files into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\songs (this might be a little different depending on your computer. Navigate manually to find out -- it should be obvious when you get there)
3. Launch Starbound

And you're done! Now whenever you use an instrument in Starbound you'll have 191 songs to choose from instead of 1! Don't forget to set your bandname to the same as other's in your area, so you'll all sync up.

Keep on rockin', space explorers!

Sleezy? They're abc files.

190 songs? NOPE!

Virus scanners can never hurt, but just to give a little insight into my methods here:

I spent the past two days combing .abc sites like fatlute.eu, downloading a whole bunch of popular songs (and personal favorites), and downloading them one by one. Then it was just a matter of testing them in game to make sure they didn't crash (you'd be surprised how many did), and how many played well. A lot of these were made for LotRO, so there was a bit of a disconnect sometimes.

Rereading it: I realize how sleezy that post does look. But if anyone DOES want a whole heap of songs, they're there.

Thank you very much man, it must have been a lot of effort, really appreciate it!

Awesome selection! I wasn't expecting to have some of my personal favs in there (White Wedding, Highway to Hell) you, fellow galactic explorer, deserve a planet.

Thanks for sharing the legit download!

Is there a way to open the .rar file without using WinZip?

Dude! These are amazing. Well done sir! My Keytar never sounded so good!!

I ran into a problem. Each time I try to play Bily Joel's "And so it goes" I keep getting kicked out of the game. The "Winnie the Pooh" and "The Office" songs work fine in-game, though.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying it!

Unfortunately, the problem with And So It Goes may not be fixable. I can look into it when I get off work, but from what I've found: a lot of songs randomly crash. All of these were designed for LotRO, so the conversion to Starbound doesn't work 100% of the time. I tried to catch most of these, but it's possible that few slipped through.

The grand majority of them work. The crash shouldn't do much damage though (at least I hope not, 'cause I've been through it about 50 times!).

Kudos to you, Sir!

I love it when players help defining a game and make it more valuable.

Thanks, great work :)

Consider uploading it to sites like www.nexusmods.com so your effort won't be buried by lots of other threads here in the forum.
Also an official Starbound modding site is probably going to be opened today.
