This worked for me.
im managing to run it reasonable on this machine at 1024x768 so its bizzare that your having issues

cpu : athlon 170u 2ghz single core
gpu : intergrated nvidia 6150 se
ram : 4 gb ddr3
windows 7 pro 64bit

going to trying it on ubuntu later to see if its any better but i am managing to get playable frame rates on windows alot of the speed issues seem to be down to hdd access and memory managment for me

other machine runs it like a dream at 1440x900 doesnt have the same loading stutters yet the hard drives are the same spec and the memory is actually slightly faster in the shonky machine

cpu : amd phenom ii x4 965 be (3.4ghz quad core)
gpu : nvidia gtx 550 ti 1gbvram
ram : 8gb ddr3
windows 8.1 pro 64bit

Thankyou!!! This fixed it but not in the way described in the directions.

I had to find my steam.exe client>rightclick>Properties>Compatability Tab>Change Settings for all users> uncheck compatability mode (mine was in vista compatability mode for some odd reason)
I was unable to find the keys when I went to registry edit, anyone else have that problem? Still running with very low fps.

It can be under the same path in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE too, I guess it changes depending on whether or not you've set up steam to be used by all users or not.

This is a beta. Not optimized yet. Expect bugs, crashes and low fps for no reasons. Also expect memory leaks.
In case i wasn't clear:

THIS IS BETA, AN EARLY ACCESS GAME
Have a great day and fun playing THE BETA OF THE GAME

This comment is really out of place in this thread, just some people asking for help with fps problems and other people offering solutions. You know it's ok to try and fix things so it works on your end even if it is beta, right?

But it wont!
It just sounds like you people are ranting and complaining. You may fix FPS for a while (I just get drops from rain and other weather changes) but eventually you will find a memory leak or other stuff and BUM fps drop again. You guys should just be patient.

All that it did for me was put me in this tiny windowed mode that runs at 60 fps, and whenever I maximize it it runs choppy again

lol not a single rant in here but yours!!! I have a core i7 3770k 16 gig ram gtx 570 and i get 10 fps when i stream the game and 20 fps when i dont at 1920 resolution. I am trying their advice to see if i can get it to work as well. you are knee jerking thinking there is rage here when all it is is people trying to figure things out calmly .... now please see yourself out of this thread or get reported for trolling.

My computer is bottom of the line, and I run it swimingly after last nights update. Before, however, I was experience etremely low framerate. I tried all of the fixes on the web, however it did not solve the problem. Check and make sure you have the most current version?
