Good to know our counterparts at the official forums think so highly of us. Perhaps we should have a thread about what their reaction would be.
but i would like to know how closely we here who stick mainly to steam measure up against the expectations of our counterparts on the official forums. regrettably, my reaction is predictable. perhaps others will be less so.
I think the majority of people posting on steam are posting as consumers, whereas starbound forum posters are posting as fans/supporters, causing a divide that makes each side view the other as either die hard fanboys or persistent trolls.
To answer the question more directly, steams response to anything starbound related with be mostly negative as always (unless CF pull a VERY impressive update out of the hat, and even then there will be nay-sayers.)
I'll just be happy when the damn thing is finally finished.
I mean if its going to be another year just to get a real update once this one comes out I might just say screw it and not bother with starbound anymore
Then perhaps the thread should be "What do you think the community reaction will be like?" rather than trying to single out steam. Reactions will be similar across both forums so trying to single us out is a little "toxic" wouldn't you say Gori friend? I'm not trying to stir any pot here friend if they don't mean any ill will surely we wouldn't either. SeoulFull knows this friend.
I think having a "set" date for an update would be nice but I don't think a trailer would do anything for me. Would we be getting patch notes/update notes as well?
My oppinion is the same. I dont care about their "announcements" and I`m at a loss why anyone would care about an announcement. They are making anouncements all the time. If they DELIVER what they announce and it is a rather large update then I will be pleased. But the announcement itself? Dont care at all.
All the guys who think the game is good enough will be even more pleased when it's as good as we want it to be.
Do you think it's fair that you can speculate on how "Steam Users" might react and lace your threads with "oh so witty sarcasm" while if we were to make such a thread surely it would be locked? It's that sort of thinking that creates a divide in this community and really hurts us.
