A review
I'm just going to drop a review of my time playing this game here for people to see, mostly because to do it for people on my friends list on the store page would be marked as a "recommendation", and I can't in good conscience have that. All that really counts is that I saw this game and wondered if it would be good. It certainly looked like it might be enjoyable, so I figured I'd give it a try.

If I had to sum up the game in one word, it would be "meh". It's got an unfinished feel to it, and is definitely not worth the full price. If you play with friends, it may be worth the cost at a 75% reduction, though.

The way the game is designed focuses on giving you points based on performance in the chapters to reward you with experience. While that sounds okay, the way they grade you is based on criteria that sometimes you just cannot improve on in a chapter solo, resulting in a middling score. If you don't beat your old score, you get no experience, and if you already completed the chapter with 100%, you can not replay it for more experience.

I assume this is a method of balance, but it really kills it if you get stuck in an area while trying to solo something. Like the last boss. As a sorceror. Who can't block. Maybe there's an exploit or something, but that last boss probably killed me over a thousand times, and my NPC teammates were so useless that I eventually turned them off since he'd just kill them in two seconds anyway. Almost all of his attacks could kill me in one shot, and with the experience available to me, there wasn't a viable way to upgrade my skills in any way to do it better, so I ended up using one of the most basic spells and teleport and just spending a solid 10-15 minutes chipping away.

The leveling system wouldn't be so bad if the crafting system weren't so terrible in itself. To get any decent equipment from drops or chests, you have to be pretty lucky. Other than that, it takes a huge amount of currency, which you gain rather slowly. The game has no method of trading, and never intends to, and so the process of getting enough money to make anything good to help you is rather slow for every character you make. Maybe the game is better as another class, but you won't be able to speed up the process of leveling and crafting unless you have a friend who's strong enough to drag you through everything.

I would like to say this review accurately reflects all of the game, but I did not play much multiplayer past chapter 6, since my friends were fed up with the game by then, largely because of the unfinished feel and lack of motivation stemming from a source that was hard to define. I can't really say personally what the game seems to be lacking to make playing it genuinly enjoyable. It might be the very slow progession of skills and equipment compared to how fast you go through chapters, or the unusually difficult time connecting with friends.

All in all, I would definitely refrain from buying this at full price. That's just on the merits of the game, and not taking into account the many bugs the game has (quests not working, getting stuck in a jail cell because pressing a button to grab a key doesn't work, story items not transferring successfully to the next chapter, monsters getting stuck, etc).

You can't get "stuck". If you cannot beat the last boss, go back to Chapter 1. Try on Hard to get more Character Points. Try on Normal to get 100%.

The game is an arcade-action rpg... ultimately, your skill as a player will decide how far you go.

If it's been a while since you last played, I suggest you try it again. We've lowered the amount of points required to get 100% and the amount of tokens required to buy items SIGNIFICANTLY based on player feedback in the past month and a half.

Hope to see you online!
Completely agree with this review. Thanks for posting the truth.
Pretty Accurate. 75% off is almost worth it. Still probably won't play this in the next few months until nostalgia hits me again. Kept me entertained for about 2 hours (chapter 5).
