(Probably 9.5/10 with an external guide)

Yggdra Union is a game that is hard to understand at the beginning, but once you grasp the basics it becomes pretty fun and addictive. Engaging tactical combat with resource management and units raising.

Difficulty and Overall Experience I played it with a guide to be aware of the locations of items, I didn't bother to get most of them(30% item completion rate), mostly prioritized stats boosting items for my favorite units.

The cards become more powerful as you use them, so I was worried about not powering the right cards potentially becoming an issue, but lukily, it's pretty obvious which cards are better than other, The good ones are just that good in comparison to the rest.

As for the tactical combat itself, features such as rewind and the game constantly saving each one of your turns makes the game not really that hard, they make those events that change the battlefield situation pretty tolerable because you can just going back a couple of turns and change your strategy, this made engaging with the game mechanics more fun for me.

Also, it has a good learning curve, the game restrict some of its mechanics until you had enough time to grasp the basics. The game certainly has a lot of learn, but once you understand them and you properly start to rise your 2-3 favorite units, it becomes easy to enjoy(The game even felt a little too easy on normal for me at times, but it was still fun because I was genuinely proud of my units)

Cons
-The characters are charming enough to keep you caring for the story(maybe mostly thanks to the excellent voice acting and character design), but the story is pretty basic overall. It's basically a jrpg about how cruel war is but with the depth of a discovery kids show.(thou I actually liked that)
-The last chapter was overall uninteresting and short(just 3 battlefields on normal, and 2 of them aren't even tactical battles anyway), just a generic twist of "I'm the real main bad guy"(said by a dude that literally no one cared for), the entire chapter feels more like a bonus, but with lame content.
-Reloading to get the MVP bonus that you want is annoying.
-The way you get items is absolutely bullsh@!, just use a guide for that.
