KotOR 2 won't work on Win 8?

So I had this game on my other laptop, which had win 7. That one died and the new one has win 8. KotOR 2 hasn't worked since. I've tried everything, getting the patch mod, restarting comp, verifying game cache. Nothing. I'm about 99% positive that KotOR 2 just doesn't work on win 8, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to run in a compatibility mode or something. Thx m8.

I'm running it just fine on w8. Are you running compatability mode?

Don't think so. As far as I know I'm not. Just for further clarification, it will show the first to developers titles, then crashes. I don't know why. Everything checks out in the file cache but it isn't working still.

Perhaps you should try running it in compatability mode (windows XP service pack 3).

everytime i try and install it keeps saying An error occurred while installing star wars knights of the old republic 2 ( connection time out) i have tryed to install it 10 tens but keeps coming up witht the same thing if anyone knows anything about this help message me

it works for me i just have to change it to windowed mode and lower the resolution in the config folder

When you get it off Steam, it is already updated to run on Windows 7, with compatibility mode I would try Windows Xp; both service packs, Windows Vista anc Windows 7

Try to disable Anti Aliasing ( Anti Aliasing=0) in swkotor2.ini. It helped me.
