Game extremely buggy

Is it just me, or is the Steam version of KotOR II extremely buggy? I remember playing the KotOR on the XBOX, and it was much more solid. Every few minutes, I seem to encounter a bug. From NPC's randomly skipping dialog without me hitting any keys, or Freia becoming unable to walk after entering stealth (or walking in a straight line, regardless of input). I suspect there are even missing graphical effects, because some things like rivers seem out of place (sounds of waterfalls, but no water, only floating rocks and a gap in the ground). Do others have the same issues, or is there something weird going on my side?

The game runs better on some computers than others. First thing to try is to alter some of the graphics settings. Try turning frame buffer effects, soft shadows and grass all off and vsync on.
