Incredibly dissapointing. The amount of plot holes, bland characters, mistreatment of classic characters, and unispired story made it impossible to enjoy.

Pretty much killed interest in Star Wars.
Good thing any interest in SWgames died with EA taking control.

Not going to watch IX in cinema's, why bother?
Agree with what the others have said

I've given up on new Star Wars stuff at this point. Rogue One was pretty good, but other than that all the Star Wars Movies and Games have been pretty bad in recent years.

I disliked episode 7 and I think this one was even worse. I am really suspecting that there is some funny business going on with all the major movie reviewers. It seems like they saw a different movie than I did. Episode 8 as good as Empire Strikes Back? Really? Not even in the same category.

Am I the only one who enjoyed it for what it was and the neat message it had. Like you have to admit it was some of the best space based scenes of the entire star wars trilogy. Yes there some moments i didn't quite like but mostly I thought it was pretty great.
I'm a sucker for good cinematography though, and personally I didn't see classic characters being mistreated?

There was the rather dumb 12-gunned dreadnaught part at the start. And... that was pretty much all for space combat of VIII.

Are you confusing it with the end battle of Rogue One?

"Space Based"
The hyperspace suicide jump was quite possibly the best shot scene in any of the films. From the deadening silence to the colourscale being faded to the longshot of the ships exploding like

How was the dreadnought dumb anyways? It has fighter support and a large amount of anti-fighter/bomber guns. It's designed for one purpose, high fire-power lmao

But then you start to wonder...

Why didn't they use this on the Death Star, Death Star II, Starkiller Base, Super Star Destroyer, The troops above Saricc base in Rogue One, above Coruscant in III, on the controller in I.

I have to admit it LOOKED epic though, but the movie overall had little to complain in that regard. But I rather have content over appearance. And the beautiful outlook hid an ugly dead shell of a movie :(.

Large amount = 12

Because it's a last ditch effort manouver my dude. You don't jump a capital ship into a another ship without guaranteeing that you'll A) destroy it and B) win the battle C) without sacrificing everyone on that ship. The admiral chose to sacrifice herself to save them and it broke a chunk of the ship off

Death Star 1 - They didn't have a capital ship in Orbit
Death Star 2 - Shield generator on a planet sized thing, probably wouldn't penetrate it and even if it did the rebels had several hundreds if not thousands of people.
Starkiller Base - It's the size of a planet loaded with fighters, capital ships etc, they wouldn't even get close enough.
Super Star Destroyer - It's a capital ship, with a bunch of support the rebels wouldn't get through enough without sacrificing all onboard.
Above Saricc - Still got a planetary shield to deal with plus imperial reinforcements,
Above coruscant in III - Ships full of troops against just one ship containing teh supreme chancellor, plus hearts and minds, is it worth fighting the enemy if this is what we have to do.
Controller in I - Again no capital ship

I thought it had a fair amount of content for 2+ hour movie.
Space Monaco was weird yes, but it had a very important point to make about good guys and bad guys being the same people and the galaxy profitteering off of war.
Krayt was a massive homage to Empire, but also completely different.
Luke was actually an amazing side character and shows even heroes make mistakes.
I'll admit I didn't like Rose all that much, but Benecio Del Toros character was pretty interesting as the low-life 2nd choice codebreaker

The movie was themed around heroes and how heroes can inspire the masses, but are still people at the end of the day they ♥♥♥♥ up a lot. It's why the last scene was important with the kid, the rebellion gets reborn in the people most effected by the regime and the abuse of power.

And these are super powerful anti-air turrets 12 is a lot, plus fighter support from 3/4 other ships, the real reason they lost is because the dreadnought leader was incomptent.

That light speed suicide made me think why didn't they do that for the first death star? I mean It can blow up an entire planet, at THAT point I would be desperate to take that down with the light speed jump if that means saving billions from a certain faith.

Then again a station that large would not break all the way through. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge lol.

Overall it was medicore. I tried watching second time but it just feels like they were juggling way tooo many characters.

It just feels strange how everyone bow there kness to First Order, its like really everyone didn't learn from the pervious harshness of the Empire? Lets bring darkness to the gaxley once more yay.

But I see what you mean with the kid (also like that part.)

Maybe I got to stop over thinking this, makes it hard to enjoy movies these days :steamsad:

Not interested in seeing any new Star Wars movie, but I'm again interested in playin old Star Wars games, like kotor series or jedi academy etc. Like need to wash myself after Last Jedi.

The weaponized hyperspace jump breaks the whole previous war if considered cannon. You would just use missiles fitted with hyperdrives to destroy all opponents.

Bunch of comics appeared where rebels just destroy death star v. 1.00 & v.2.00 just using those hyperspace capital ships.

It's not the speed it's the mass my dude. A hyperspace missile wouldn't do any different of a normal one
