Game does not start at all

When I try to start the game by double-clicking on it in the library, a steam window pops up (game is being started) and then nothing happens. There is no error message.

I'm running Windows 7. Anyone?

Got it; works after reinstalling DX

Same happens to me in Max Payne 3 and other errors in another games , Steam can't solve but Win 7 is a comic software and have lot of problens.Trying evething to make it work , but Microsoft don't help.

I had this problem, it was complaining about OpenGL. was playing on a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000. I updated to the latest graphics and set the graphics mode for games to 'performance' and the game loaded up fine.

Check your drivers first, most common cause of problems.
