doom 3 wont run
has anyone else bought doom 3 BFG edition for the PC and having problems running it?

WHEN I GOT IT IT WOULD LOAD TO GREY SCREEN THEN CRASH SO I UPGRADED MY GARPHICS CARD
Runs like a dream, I know its the most common fix but update your graphics drivers
i bought it my graphics and everything is fine and it wont run still
I have problems with Doom 3 BFG Edition aswell. Every time I try to load it, it goes to a grey screen for about a second then comes out and says "error during initialization". I've been trying to find a solution everywhere but nothing helps. If anybody who has experienced this problem and has solved it, I would be generous.

Ive got a GL error closing screen and it wont load at all
Yeah mine will not run. It just flashes the instal screen and thats it. I have a 3gb gpu 32gb ram and a 3770k cpu. It's definatley not my set up thats holding it back

Sounds like a laptop with 2 diff' vid' cards.

Once you have new vid' drivers from nVidia and Intel(might not be any from Intel)

Make this file;
C:\Users\Jacqueline\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG/base/autoexec.cfg
put in it;
seta r_vidMode "0"

Tweak monitor/resolution. You might have to go to "-right-click-/screen resolution/IDENTIFY" to figure out what monitor # to run on.
Happy? delete/rename the autoexec.cfg. ( or you will have to tweak every time )
Put the lime in the cocconut. Drink it all up. Call me in the morning. heh.

Ultimitly you to specifiy "which" monitor # to run on.

yea mine just says "doom 3 has stopped working".
mine says "Error it could not work because DEP closed the program" who knows how to disable that stupid program so I can go to the game?
mine too ,anybody know how to fix it or its only left to wait for a patch
if you got OpenGL error poping up change your desktop ressolution to 1280 x 720 and it should work fine

are you using monitor or tv(via hdmi) as a pc display ?
This is really bizzare. I have a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 video card. which runs Doom 3 like a champ, but i cant run Doom 3 BFG at all. I dropped my resolution across the board, updated my video card drivers, and my DirectX is up to date. im out of options. If i have to drop my resolution to the lowest setting, the game is officially broken.
