BFG Edition and subtitles

Does the BFG Edition including subtitles? Because if not, no deal. Deaf gamer + no subs = no sale.

I hope this helps, though hopefully the lack of visual subtitles for sudden monster appearances (growls, etc) won't be a gamebreaker for you. If the above link is of use to you, you can "select all" the text, right click and choose "copy", and "paste" it to a word or text file.

Yeah, I have to admit lack of subtitles, let alone captions, is a game-breaker for me. Lack of captions I get, as long as there are subtitles. Lack of subtitles in a game heavily invested in audio cues just sounds dumb. Do they not understand they're ignoring a significant marketing sector?

I'm glad Rage has subtitles, but a re-release of DOOM 3 sans subtitles just doesn't make any sense. If you're going to "fix" anything, that should be a top priority.

Valve captions - not just subtitles - all their games. They are the only games I pay for out of my pocket (otherwise I play them on friends' machines). After all, why pay 100% when you don't get 100%?

They're actually ignoring the people who are deaf. I was looking for subtitles.... Why? In the elder scrolls V, you can add subtitles to hear Japanese voice actors. With Doom 3 BFG however, you can't (unless if they have a third-party mod that would feature it..... Then it would be cool and I'll be able to add more replay value into the game).

Exactly! There was a DoomCC mod, but it only works up to a specific build, and it does not work on the Linux port. I assume it does not work in Doom3 BFG.

Well, Id isn't getting my money. If they want it, they have to earn it.

I had problems with AMD drivers and now without subtitles, but there is 3D for nobody. BFG edition sucks.

Hearing aids do not "fix" or "cure" deafness, and they certainly do not make it easy for people with profound hearing loss to understand speech in even the best of situations.

Actually, your typing looks worse from here, and he said in his first post (up top) that he's deaf.

Nope. Your type look worse. You are not deaf, so don't saying anything.

Oh dear, you still don't believe the fact about Audiodef is deaf. No offense. There are a lot of people who are also deaf too like you guys. The hearing aid doesn't cure them to able to speak in fact, they can only just hear but sometimes hard to catch what they were saying. For example, when someone speaks too fast, you can't seem to catch what they were saying, then you have to ask them to repeat what they say again.

I can confirm this, since i am hearing impaired too, and wears hearing aids. It do help me but i do not understanding without reading lips.

I have looked too for subtitles for this game but didnt find it for BFG. Well, i have played Doom 3 and RoE and LM 100% without understanding any word. I have enjoyed it.

Are you aware deaf people do have bad grammer? It is hard to believe you are hearing impaired and dont know this.
