DOOM 3: BFG Edition

Doom 3 bfg system requirements?
So my processor (2.66 ghz) meets the requirements, but my graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 4600) doesn't. Would this work smoothly? Oh, and don't complain about how my specs suck, I know they do, but money is tight and I don't give a sh*t. :D

Minimum:

OS:Windows vista/ Windows 7
Processor:2.0 GHz dual core
Memory:3 GB RAM
Graphics:NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT / ATI Radeon HD 5750, 512 MB video RAM
Hard Drive:11 GB
Sound:Windows compatible sound card

That is odd i am curious as to why this version would need a 9800GT or better or even a 5750 for that matter at the very least i would expect an 8xxx series and a 4xxx series or better since the 9800 is jsut a rebranded 8xxx series on a smaller die set and that most 48xx series cards bleave the 5750 for dead.

The orignal doom 3 i ran on a ATi 9800 PRO 128MB card and a P4 2GHz 400FSB northwood CPU.

the original doom 3 on PC requirements were:

A 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500
384 MB RAM
2 GB hard disk space
An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or bette

But we all know and recall the debates that went around as to who could even play Doom 3 on those specs with even the settings turned low.
Yes, it should. I have ran this on my M11x R3 with the dedicated video chip disabled (i.e. on the i7 2617M and the integrated HD graphics 3000) and it was butter. It was also set to the panel's native 1366x768, none of that 1280x720 bullcrap. you should be just fine.

In addition, because it ran so smoothly on an IGP, I do believe their statement of minimum and recommended system are crap (plus, it is such a large departure from the original D3's requirements).
Too bad I don't know you IRL, Dave. I have a couple of HD 5770's with crossfire bridge taking up space in my hallway. I bet you could find my cards anywhere for just about 30-50 USD easy. Ask around with your PC buddies. I bet they'll let you borrow a card or two.
Thanks for the replies, guys. @FuNb0Y86, yea, I'm actually buying an HD 6850 here pretty soon. My specs are low because my PC gaming is usually focused on TF2 or older games. I now feel much more confident in purchasing this. Again, thanks to all the replies. I'm also quite curious as to why they would label the system requirements so high. Odd for such an old game...
im running a 1.6 ghz i7 4gb ram and a 4670 ati, all maxed 1366x768 60fps so yeah
requirements are crap.
