Lunch install prompt
I don't know how to be more specific but does anyone know a way or why everytime i lunch Doom 3 BFG edition that i get the steam install prompt.

It should be a one time thing, it always had been and was for all my other games except this one. Everytime i lunch it i get the popup window asking me to install, what gives.

Checked the file intergraty and all is well.

If game runs fine after installation for you then you can fix that install prompt by yourself.
You need to run "regedit.exe" and open this path:
For 32bit OS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Valve\Steam\Apps\208200
For 64bit OS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432NODE\Valve\Steam\Apps\208200
And create DWORD value keys and set them to 1, so they will look like this:
directx MSVC
Close regedit and start the game.

It helped me. Thank you very much

easier to use RBDoom 3 BFG and no registry changes needed

All the real credit goes to partof (whose post I am quoting) for knowing which keys to create/update. These instructions are just to possibly make things a little easier for people who want to minimize their interactions with the MSW registry. :) For reference, this is the original post (you can see it a few posts up, too):

If you don't want to follow those instructions, you can create a file with a ".reg" extension (like "doom3-bfg-fix.reg", for example) using Notepad etc. and then just double-click it. Like above, the contents are different depending on whether you're on a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
  • It doesn't matter what the filename is, as long as it ends with ".reg"
  • It doesn't matter where you save the file
  • Creating/saving the file doesn't do anything; nothing gets modified until you double-click it and when you do that you'll get first a UAC prompt (that's Microsoft User Access Control, not our own beloved but morally bankrupt Union Aerospace Corporation :D) and then a confirmation prompt from the Registry editor itself asking if you're sure.
  • Yes, the "Windows Registry Editor Verson 5.00" bit is part of the file
For 32-bit OSes
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\Apps\208200] "directx"=dword:00000001 "MSVC"=dword:00000001
For 64-bit OSes
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps\208200] "directx"=dword:00000001 "MSVC"=dword:00000001

Or simply delete file "installscript.vdf" from game folder.

Thnxs, i was missing MSVC line in my register. It sucks i read the post from RaferoForever as latest after fixing it. It is definitively the easiest solution.
