Having trouble using doom cheats

i am having problems using the doom cheats. i checked the controls and to move to left or right include the letters A and D. when i type any cheat in (iddqd or iskfa). nothing happens at all and the character just moves to the side i have tried typing it in map mode and repeatedly typing in the cheats but nothing happens. it is so frustrating. how can i change this so i can use the cheats??

They don't work on this version, and enabling them to do so via the console would prevent you from getting achievments.

There is code preventing you to manipulate the .wad file's original code. You'd have to disable said code blocking you from doing so with the command prompt.

You have to enable console by changing the shortcut info for the exe.

+seta com_allowconsole 1

Then you can type cheats in the console after pressing "~". I think this disables getting achievements tho.

I don't think so...I tried activating the cheats for those no luck only works for doom 3 and the extra mission...and ROE.

Most Doom 1 codes are the same as Doom II and Final Doom cheat codes.

"IDCLIP" without quotes, to go through walls, in which works only in DOOM II and Final DOOM.

But for DOOM 1 to go through wall you need to type in "IDSPISPOPD" without quotes instead.

Looks like you need to use "idqd" for god mode rather than "iddqd" in Doom and Doom 2.
