I really can't stress this enough...the OpenGl solution!
The OpenGL problem is outdated graphics card drivers! If you need help updating with the proper ones message me, or leave a comment here about your rig or at least your graphics card! I have an intel integrated chipset, an i5, and a GTS 240 I can run this game fine! Anyone with a rig since like 2004ish should be able to run this game as the graphics have not changed dramatically since the original!

Now, to find out which you have since I'm pretty sure you are all Windows 7 users? Start, control panel, hardware and sound, click on where it says, "Device Manager", when that comes up I want you to click on the arrow next to display adapters. After you had done that it should show something under the display adapters like for me it says NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240 that is my graphics card! So, I'd click the first link, and follow the instructions to update it!

What about laptop users? I have a HP dv6 but haven't seen any graphics card driver updates since 2011 (ATI 5650 HD mobility).

Alright, for you that is a mobile Radeon by AMD, so what you do is go here http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Step 1: Notebook Graphics then under Step 2 Auto Detect and Install!

You have an onboard GPU by intel it seems try updating via intel drivers in my OP if not try the other two. If none of that works then it is either your GPU most likely an onboard Intel HD doesn't support it or your intel chipset doesn't support it.
