Is this a DOOM 3 clone?

I own the original doom 3, and i was wondering if this is just a kind of clone rip off game? if so, i wont bother. Please only honest opinions. Thanks.

According to the Doom Wikia it is "remastered version of Doom 3 which was released to celebrate the 20th Anniversary since 1993. "

The BFG Edition includes:(again, according to the wikia)

The 2004-era "Doom 3" with enhanced graphics, a checkpoint save system, 3D Capability for 3D Televisions and Achievements(Xbox 360)/Trophies(PS3)

The already-released add-on; "Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil"

The Lost Mission 8-level campaign, which was cut from the original game
Ultimate Doom
Doom II: Hell on Earth, including the "No Rest for the Living" Doom 2 Expansion recently released on Xbox Live.

Unlike the original game which featured the Flashlight as a 'weapon' itself, the BFG Edition instead was 'armor-mounted' meaning players can attack and illuminate dark areas simultamiously.

Late November, the GPL version of the Doom 3 BFG Edition engine was released on GitHub.

I know you shouldn't judge a game by it's visuals, but this just doesn't hold up to the original Doom 3

Dumbed down Doom 3 for a console release. no mods(got mod support late last year, but i have yet to see anyonme care to make or work on a mod for BFG edition on some doom 3 mod forums), censored Doom 1 and 2, gimped gameplay and diffculty(enemies are weaker and ammo is ridiculously plentiful like all shallow console games), etc

The only upside to this release is engine enchancements from their Rage game. If you are a Doom fan or an actual PC FPS gamer you are better off sticking with regular Doom 3. Use Sikkmod, Wulfen Texture Pack, UQE Doom 3(for modern widescreen support and FOV)

If you have 3D monitor, then Doom BFG Edition is the best, it's so much better than original, can't stop playing it.

But the rage engine itself is a complettely mess ;-)

Yes, its a doom 3 ripoff for consoles. They have cutted almost all of the graphics settings off.
