game just sudenly stops working

hi my game works up until i start a new game or try to load a previous save it just stops and comes up with a message saying doom 3 has suddenly stop working, i don't know if the other dooms are like this (doom, doom 2, doom res, doom lost missions) because i have not tried them yet but if anyone has any suggestions into trying to get this problem fixed will much appreciated.

oh and iv'e tried uninstalling it but that didn't work either

Tried running it in windowed mode? do you have the correct resolution set? its possible you set antialiasing too high for your GPU.

what windows you on? might have to try and run it in compatibility settings. can you get a log?

i am on windows 7 ultimate and no i dont know how to get hold of the log
