Monsters not rendering when spawning in console?

Hey guys. So I tried spawning a few monsters on the first mission, and instead of spawns a black box....Im guessing as a stand in for the actual monster because instead all I can do is hear the monster and such but no actual monster spawns.....It seems like you can only spawn monsters that appear in that actual level because I tried spawning a specific zombie type in a later mission and the game simply closed out. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Were using mods/cheats?

JUst using the console alone is considered "cheating" isn't it?

Ya..it is probably has to do with them trying to not allow people to mod/force spawn/cheat via the console...that way they can force upon you steam achievments.

It turns off achievements though when you use the console. SO that doesn't make sense to me.

No there isn't! BFG is using idTech 4 fused with idTech 5. That's why you can only spawn specific monster entity per level, the same thing is in Rage. Entities are embed in to the maps, that's idTech 5 specifics and have nothing to do with cheat protection.
