Doom 3 does not function at all for me (1+2 work however 3 does not)

Everytime I try to open up Doom 3, the cinematic in the beginnig were they are talking about UAC rolls through nicely, but as soon as It trys to start loading up the level, the screen goes white and it says "DOOM 3 BFG has stopped working, the program needs to close" I have tried toggeling the full screen settings, and tricking my computer into thinking it was using a different monitor, and I have been digging through the forums for hours! Somebody please help me fix the problem with my game, I am quite excited to play it.
