Are saves from the Steam version of Ys Origin compatible with the DRM-free version from the Humble Bundle?

I tried running the DRM-free version, and while it shares the configuration settings, it had no save files. Are the saves not compatible between the two or is there something I need to do first, like moving files around?

Yes, they are, but you need to move them from the game's Steam Cloud save folder.
