Setting the game to automatically run in DX9 mode then forgetting about it isn't the right thing to do, especially as the game is advertised as having DX10 support, which no Windows 7 users will be unable to use unless they mess about uninstalling the KB2670838 update but that will then cause problems for other games and software.
@Phrix
That issue should be gone as well as we use by default now DX9. Also we havent seen it happening in DX10 mode but we have to say that the whole DX10 support from MS side is not good thats why we believed its the safest to go for DX9 mode. This will run perfectly on any DX10 system as well. Seriously DX10 in Red Faction Guerilla was just a marketing gag as there was no real advantage.
Will I be able to redeem my retail copy on Steam as other migrated titles have done?
That's fine, just want to be sure I can get the achievements in ample time before I head over to Steamworks. Question; the Multiplayer servers, they are run by Microsoft correct (For the GFWL)? If not, completely fine, just need some info so I can alert others to this.
What Im asking is; willl GFWL multiplayer still work?
Thanks, I hope a lot of people will re-enjoy the beauty of destruction. We are also very passionate about Red Faction and hope to do more in the future for this great franchise.
I appreciate the work you guys have done for this I really do but I've been using DX10 in the game since it was released and it looks far, far better than DX9 mode and worked flawlessly till the Microsoft KB2670838 update came out last year.
Also I just tested DX10 mode (-nod3d9 to launch in DX10 mode to those who don't know) and the issue is still present so can you please look into releasing a proper fix? If you haven't noticed the issue launch a map in custom multiplayer solo and you'll see, character flickers/disappears, buildings flicker and disappear and so on.
Good enough for me. Time to boost boost boost these achievements!
