Runtime c++ error

Why do I get a error message saying : Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program File...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application´s support team for more information.

I know it´s a common problem but I don´t know how to fix it and everyone on the internet is saying things I dont understand.. so can somebody explain please!!

i have the same problem on two computers running 8.1 and just cant fix it.

Uninstalled 2005 2008 and 2010 redists , reinstalled game and still runtime error.

it doesn´t work.. Tried it but same message is showing.
I think I have to reset my computer for it to work cuz I dont know what else could work:(

yea same here updated client and no go and i even tried on a fresh install pc.

Its apparently caused by a Windows 8.1 update

I have same problem on Windows 8.1, and can't find any solution how to fix it... If you found out how to run this game, please help :(

I unistalled the system files- it was an option to reinstall the whole computer and windows. And I installed RFG again and I could run the game but when I came to the main menu everything lagged terribly and Mason with his sledehammer was kinda transparent. So I shut down the game and opened it again and the message came back again :(

The same prolem apparead to me recentl, on my laptop with 8.1. Weird enough, only on retail and Impulse version. Steam version worked without problems.
