There is a german Karling ruling the empire of Francia and a frankish Karling ruling the kingdom of Germany. At least the Karling ruling Leon has the good sense to be castillion.

It is weird how that happens. I almost always see either West or East Francia gaining Italy and forming their associated empires. Even on some rare occasions I have seen West Francia inheriting both East Francia and Italy and forming Francia. Now, it is my mission to destroy the Karlings every time I start in 866.

It easy to destoy them. step 1 be muslim or pagan. 2 get your invasion cb ready. 3 use cb and tear them apart. 4.revoke the lands you took and their courts will run back to the kings court making it so he cant have sex. 5. kill the guy you made truce with and repeat.

Thing's normalize after awhile with the various Francia's, but still a Karling, even a castillion one, ruling the Iberian peninsula just seems wrong.

Its not as easy getting rid of the Karlings as a christian.
In my current playthrough, Ive taken France+Aquitane from them.
I had to marry into the family to keep them from pressing their claims on the land.
Im working on assasinating and supporting any and all civil wars against them.

So far, East Francia has fallen to another dynasty and is now Germany.
Lothar,Burgundy, and Italy are still under theyre hold.

the karlings are kinda a holes playing as one of them is almost impossible because they sit there and wait for a faction to arrise and than swoop in under the radar watch out for those punks. also agree with pidgeon death to karlings
