I know this is a completely different paradox game, but I can't seem to find it to purchase on Steam, any ideas?

That's odd. I own it and bought it through Steam, so I clicked on the store page in my library and it redirected to the main Steam store page. So, my guess is it's been taken down for some reason or another. Keep an eye out for it, it should reappear, seeing as there is still DLC for it listed on Steam.

It's possible Paradox doesn't hold the full rights to the title (but to the DLC) and some part of the rights transferred to another company or something that doesn't have a contract with Valve... It's happened with other games in the past.

Or any other form of store, like Amazon.

If you buy a boxed copy you may not recieve a steam key however and not be able to run it through the Steam client. So, my advice is double check before you buy. The advantage is that when there's not a sale on steam, other shops are often cheaper.

I believe Matrix games has the exclusive rights to sell PON now.

it is a game site similar to Steam but does not use its own DRM, you just DL the game and register on Paradox.

I think that game is horrible and unsupported.

Then how come the expansion packs are linked to paradox and steam?

Perhaps Paradox has some rights to the expansions, and has either chose to continue Steam sales or has not made a decision.

They will probably stay up for sale if they are paradox owned, as, those who have PON on Steam already may want the expansions.

Just my thoughts.

Ask Paradox and Steam that question. The message below was posted on the Matrix Games website back in April of this year.

"Matrix Games and AGEOD (www.ageod.com) are proud to announce the release of the best-selling turn-based historical strategy game Pride of Nations on the Slitherine Group Online Stores.

As we announced last month, Pride of Nations was released during AGEOD’s time with Paradox. As starting from 1st March, Paradox Interactive have surrendered their commercial rights to sell any AGEOD game including Pride of Nations, the game is now available for the first time on the Matrix Games and Slitherine Online Stores .

This game release is just opening the door to other upcoming AGEOD titles available soon on our stores, like Rise of Prussia and Napoleon’s Campaigns.

“We now have a great opportunity to reach out to the huge Matrix and Slitherine communities with our flagship titles”, says Philippe Thibaut, Director of Ageod. “We are working hard on our releases, but we also keep a close eye on our catalogue, which is crowded with games that deserve increased and ongoing exposure”

We want also to remind our community thatthe Ageod forum will be the place to discuss this game and all aspects of future AGEOD releases, updates and news.

Get more information on Pride of Nations from its official product page."
