CK II- C++ Runtime error

Hello guys :)
I just bought this game + all DLC's and downloaded it, waiting in excitement to play.
The game was loading... "Loading Flags" WHOOP
the game crashed..

"Runtime Error!
Program: D:\Kevin\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\ck.2.exe
this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

Looked trough the mighty interwebz and couldn't find an effective way to fix it.

Re-installed the game serval times and restored the cache aswell, but unfortunately it didn't work...


Please help this poor peasant...

if you looked in the other pinned thread at the top as well about the latest patch one of the developer addresses that issue you are having and has a couple suggestions and a fix for some users and also says that they are working to fix it, you didnt look very hard

When you reinstall, make sure you delete the content of the Crusader Kings 2 folder located in My Documents/Paradox.

After that: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328

Then: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
(If that doesn't do anything then http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 )

Then: visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates/patches it wants to, for all .NET versions.

Hallo, has there been any solution to this problem? I've done all the steps described by Supplican in this thread, but i still have the problem. I've been looking now for hours for a solution and i find millions with the same problem, but not anything to solve it. Thanks for replying!

You don't say if the game used to work for you and now does not, or never worked for you.

IF NEVER:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\DX\ and run dxsetup.exe

If that doesn't help, please try installing:

IF IT USED TO WORK:
Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local files" in Steam
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

Was having the same issue after having just installed it, tried the delete flags folder that LordWarluk suggested, BOOM it works! Thanks!

This worked for me, game now runs but without any reign Flags, to solve this just verify game integrity after deleting the "flags" folder in the quoted path and Steam will download all the flags again, then game will be fully running.
