Good game guides?
So I got this game free and I've started to have a look. Currently I'm highly confused, and the tutorials are doing little to assist me. There appears to be a hell of a lot to consider when playing the game, however it does look like it has promise if I keep going. Can anyone suggest any good guides on how to start? I'd rather not give up something that could turn out to be a lot of fun simply because I couldn't work out how to play it properly!

Thanks

Watch some video tutorials it will help you getting started with the game:

Alright sometimes you just have to feel around with it. The best thing you can do is not go into ironman mode and just do freeplay. When you in the normal mode you can access the console command, from there you can give you self cash by typing in "cash ###" (# being numbers) that will make the game alot easier. You can also hit "charinfo 1" (it is a varient of that if it isn't right). This will give you info you don't need, all you need is the character's ID. You can then "imprison ###" or "kill ###". *You can't do this in ironman.

Honestly this game is hard and very complex when you start. After you play it for awhile you learn how it works. Some of the games notification on the top of the game's screen can be ignored. Like "de jure claims" or "important decisions".

I won't lie to you the easiest place to start out is actually a large kingdom or empire, they have a good continuation of funds. Oh and on the subject of difficulty the rating system in the game is very good. I can immediately conquer some places and put someone that had a 50% rating down to 5-10%.

Oh and a little protip. If you want a neighboring territory you can invite a claimant of the title and (if the title is lower than yours) you can conquer it and it will be apart of your territory.Try not to use women though.

Otherwise the CKII wikia is pretty good. Hope it helps.
Arumba07's videos helped me a lot.

Thanks for that tutorial suggestion - I've started watching the series and they're quite good, I'm starting to at lesat understand what some of the buttons do!

The wikia looks like it might be useful once I've figured out how to play the game :)
I also highly recommend the above tutorial video since it was how I learned to play.
Hello,
Here are a list of CK2 youtube tutorials that I've watched and that helped me start:

Aggripa Maxentius' playlist:

Eviscerator03's (Evis T) playlists:

Technology system: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKsDaJ9Fjvo
Republics tutorials: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cm9CX0dv6O4

An other good playlist is Tekk's Tavern tutorials:

Those are for the most part really basic tutorials. Once you understand the game well enough, you can jump in some of Arumba's CK2 playthroughs:

For tutorials concerning the DLC stuff, try looking at the most recent tutorials. Aggripa Maxentius' tutos are pretty recent I think.

I won't be touching DLC for a while! But thanks for the tip
Spent 2-3 hours watching tutorials from Eviscerator so far, oddly watching them is quite good entertainment even though I've not started playing the game yet!

Yeah, I was also really entertained aside from the tutorial merit of it lol. Also, I'd suggest the DLC if you can (the main packs, not necessarily the unit packs). I feel weird playing games without the DLC even when I'm new, but I'm glad I got them from the start!
