Can't open since installing Windows 10
Anyone else know how to make the game work again? I just installed Windows 10 and every time I try opening the game it looks like it's gonna launch I select all my DLC hit start game it appears to load for a brief moment then POOF... right back to the desktop. Anybody know how to fix this?

Update: I tried running it in compatibility mode with Windows 8 (which it used to run on just fine) but it still is not opening, now it opens the loading screen for a moment longer than it did before but it still just automatically closes out back to the desktop.

verify your files make sure your not runing any mods windows 10 make a UTC file of everything in documents you will have to delete everything in that folder or try deleting all the UTC's to get mods to work.

Having the same problem having just updated to Windows 10. Launcher doesn't even appear for me.

Update: I was able to get it working through some easy jiggery-pokery. I went to my Crusader Kings 2 folder and simply switched the compatibility mode for CK2game.exe to Windows 7 (what I had before the update) and made sure to check run as administrator. Ran perfectly after that.

I just now deleted all my saved games and all my mods and did a complete reinstall. I already reinstalled previously but that did not work. Hopefully deleting the mods and saved games will work, if not, I'm going to be rather upset. Good thing I was getting bored of my saved games anyway though.

I finally got it to launch after deleting all the mods, saved games, doing a complete reinstall and then re-doing the properties to run in compatibility mode with Windows 8

Thanks everyone.

???
No need to delete your save files or mods.
If a mod is incompatible, simply uncheck them in the launcher.

Uninstalling and reinstalling with a new OS is a good idea anyway though.

Install this and if Windows says it doesn't want or that it has a newer version,
then do so anyway:

If the game did run before (also do so if you find no way to install the linked software as Windows resists), then go in to your "Progams" and uninstall
Microsoft Visual c++ 2010 (x86) , then reinstall by using the link i provided.

Nice that you copied an earlier post of mine, but that doesn't always apply.
...and the OP got it fixed by now.
