FYI: Upcoming Update will break Iron Man games

Horse Lords DLC will be released on July 14th. With the DLC release will be an update to the game for everyone.

In the forums, the developers have stated that the update will very likely break Iron Man save games.

If you want to continue your Iron Man save game, you should disable automatic updates for Crusader Kings II before July 14.

I decided to give up my current Iron Man games and I'll start fresh then. There will be some major changes in the update that will change gameplay even if you do not buy the DLC. I'm looking forward to those changes.

How do I do this? In my properties screen, I only have the following options:

• Always keep this game up to date
  
• Only update this game when I launch it
  
• High Priority - Always auto-update this game before others

Don't think you can prevent it from updating, however you will probably be able to revert to an old update like you have been able to

Looks like the BETAs tab is not a great solution. The current version is 2.3.6. The newest patch you can set in the BETAs tab is 2.0.4. I might have mixed up some numbers there but that's the gist: big difference in version.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with that situation. It'd be nice if there was a way to prevent the loss of saved games, specifically ironman games. I suppose some of these I'd play with a broken ironman just to finish them out, but that'd suck.
