By granting that vassal king said territory. For example, if you are the Byzantine Empire and you made another person King of Greece, he would desire Constantinople.

Vassal kings are generally trouble as they have a default opinion penalty. In my opinion, the most stable solution in the long run is - when you have a reason, try to imprison him, let him rebel, defeat him, revoke the kingdom (and destroy it afterwards). This strategy gives you a one-time opinion penalty for destroying the title, but dukes are much more manageable than kings and, as the title does not exist, they would not have the other opinion penalty (for your control and their desire of that kingdom title).

There is no place for a king in the Roman Empire. (Except the Ecumenical Patriarch, of course :)

No, of course not. I'd have kept all your demesne in a single de jure Kingdom, and simply not created said Kingdom.

You cannot have too many (vassal) dukes. You can only have too many personally held duchies. In fact, it is better to have more weaker vassals than one strong. And if any duke is unsuitable for you, the Byz./Roman Emperor has the right to revoke a duchy without tyranny.

The opinion penalty is -25 toward the emperor. Additional opinion penalties will apear for any duchies the emperor still holds within the de jure kingdom. It can add up. And for the Byzantine Emperor, it only takes maybe two kings falling below a 50 opinion to form a faction strong enough to revolt.

I'm actually doing a Byzantine round myself right now and I have an extensive empire that stretches from Italy all the way to Egypt. Anytime I can create a Kingdom title I do. Makes getting troops a lot easier and once you solidify your status the vassel kings generally like you. The only vassel king rebellion I've had was the Despot of Sicily which was at like the beginning of the game. Relating to your issue though, in my round I haven't (and don't plan on) created the kingdom of Greece. Your dukes will want it for themselves and if you grant the kingdom to somebody else then they'll desire whatever territory you have in the Greece territory. My advice is cut your losses and revoke the title from this vassel. With imperial administration none of your vassels will be angry with you so you won't have to worry about your vassels rebelling. The only person that will be pissed will be that king. So in conclusion whatever territory your capital is in don't create that kingdom title. Yes it sucks having all those dukes and crap to deal with, but it's a much better plan.

Especially as the Byzantines, never ever hand out Kingdoms except as a last resort to avoid a massive revolt. The Byzantines can revoke Duchys w/o a reason, making it easy to remove troublesome vassals. With Kingdoms, you can't do that for free. So make as many duchies as possible, but no Kingdoms, and your Empire will be stable and easy to keep happy.

To answer your specific question, no. He will desire all lands within his Kingdom until he owns them. So you can either give him the lands, or expect him to hate you. :)
