I'm also unable to play, I've tried several of the forum fixes including some of the downloads from microsoft and reinstalling the game. I've tried looking for any uninstalled files but I haven't noticed anything. Rolling the game version back didn't work.

Une beta ouverte est sortie et vous pouvez lire :

- Fixed custom localization crashing the game​

Vous avez donc deux possibilités:

- désactiver le mod et tester la beta ouverte 2.7.0.2 : vous devriez avoir les surnoms accordés en genre sans plantage (d'ailleurs, si vous choisissez cette option, je vous invite à venir me dire si ça marche correctement)
- continuer avec le mod temporaire Lingua Franca et le supprimer à la sortie de la prochaine version considérée comme stable.

OK, is the Paradox Interactive person still reading this thread?? After a few "learning" games I've finally got an ironman game that's been running well for about 130 game years and I can see my way clear to be able to create an empire. Then the game crashes to desk-top. Tried to get it running again 2-3 times, but it always crashes about 15 seconds after the saved game loads.

I don't like to beg for help if I can help it, so I went through all the "crash" threads here on steam and ended up uninstalling, deleting all local CK2 files, shutting my rig down, and then doing a clean install of CK2. Then I moved my saved ironman game into the new "Save Game" folder and loaded it --- went about 15 seconds at normal speed and then CTD.

No mods, only the one free DLC that came with the game + the free "Yuletide" DLC. Old Vista rig, but still within the minimum required standards for the game.

So, anyway, I'm not about to play CK2 any more, nor will I be in the market for any other Paradox games or DLCs -- whether they be full price or on sale -- unless this problem can be solved.

Your issue is not the same issue as the ones in this thread, as it was a language specific crash that is fixed by now.

This is just a Steam forum.
Could well be your specific save file is corrupted,. I would advice to not play on ironman...in general actually, but specifically not as your first games.

As to playing on ironman: well, I played a few times with Ironman disabled 'til I pretty much got the hang of the game, then played a couple of ironman games to short disastrous endings. Finally got a good start and was doing pretty well on my last ironman game (ironman = getting the achievements), when the non-recoverable CTD occurred.

I mentioned it, as there are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of reasons why it could get corrupted, you can't circumvent bugs with console commands/cheats and.....well i play this game since release and only played on iroman thrice.

Regarding the crash issue, it would be interesting to know when it crashes specifically, if that is only an issue with your specific save file or with a new game as well....and if you use any mods (some mod can be used in ironman). Tell tech support, not me. Good luck.

Usually I watch crashes in the first days of the game since patch 1.7. Mi advice is save your game before unpause it (when you start it), or if you want put the old patch...

Well, yeah, but this little discussion was about playing in Ironman mode -- which means you can't save.
