Gamma/Brightness/Contrast Issue
Not sure if others have this issue, but the game looks completely gray to me, I don't even need my torch. I've read that it's because this might be a typical PC port--if that's true, should I just wait for a patch or is there a config/ini file or registry edit I can make to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

There is a brightness adjustment bar in the graphics option of the game, you can turn this down to achieve a darker image. If you've already turned it all the way down and you are still having an image that is too bright, then something is wrong with either your display, calibration, or your display drivers. I find setting the brightness all the way down in this game to be too dark, but the middle is too bright. Try setting the bar 2 to 4 clicks in from the left side of the bar, that's where I found the sweet spot myself.
I do have it at just about that, and the menu bars appear black, but the actual surrounding areas, even the loading screen, just seem to look gray to me. Maybe new drivers could help, maybe there's something I can adjust in Nvidia control panel? Have to try later when I get home, and thanks for the reply.
Yeah there is a problem, at least in outdoor areas. Indoors colors are very vivid, and there is a nice contrast, but outdoors there is less of a contrast between colors, and also almost a gray filter over the picture.

I looked at other footage (including console footage), and it's the same everywhere. Hitman also had a similar problem.
Not sure if you have nvidia Metexie, but here's what worked for me:

Go to nvidia Control Panel > Adjust Desktop Color Settings > Click on the Digital Color Format drop-down box and select YCbCr444 instead of RGB.

Worked for me, loving the game now, and I hope this helps others!
i dont understand why devs put a bar to adjust brightness, but nothing on the screen to let us know what the optimal brightness should be. how hard is it to add the adjust said pic so its barely visible.

My thoughts exactly, It irks me incredibly whenever there's a brightness option but no pattern to comapre it to. Especially if there's no way to tell how the game looks other than exiting said option and menu and verify.

You are a miracle worker. Ima just throw all these tags here for any searchers sake :)

Also, I found this under Control Panel > Change Resolution > Output Color Format

I tried to find any solution to this, unfortunately, I don't have YCbCr444 as an option. What am I missing?

This post is super old, so the driver software version they're referring to is different. Nvidia moved it to the "Change Resolution" tab. Once in, scroll down to '3. Apply the following settings', select 'Use Nvidia Color settings' and where it says 'RGB', select 'YCbCr444' Done.
For AMD users:
Open AMD Software Adrenalin> Display>Turn off the "Custom Colour".

This happened me in Tomb Raider 2013, and now that I started the game again years later I remembered this issue then and still persists.
