Full Graphics only in windowed mode! (w/Temp Fix at bottom)
Guy's make sure you are in game when you try this and change to windowed mode by pressing Alt+Enter. Leaving the Aspect Ratio on Auto may help. It's still not perfect as the effects sometimes still disappear until you exit and reenter windowed mode. Just check for sun rays every once and a while and make sure they're there.

You only get full graphics in windowed mode, It's small I know but I kept having this feeling something was missing from the scenery and then it hit me, actual rays and lens flares from the sun are simply not there where they should be. While small this does add a lot to scenery as a whole and the landscape looks too clear. Seems to be all camera effects are missing! Blood on screen gone too.

Effect's both Nvidea AND ATI

Screens with missing effect's are fullscreen, Screens with effects are windowed

I haven't noticed rain drops either, i'll look for them next time and see if they are missing too.

yep you're right, water drop effects on camera are missing too, seems like all camera effects are completely missing, that's nice, been playing with a lot of visuals absent :\ I hate the fact that im not experiencing the full beauty of the game. lots of smalls things that really add up as a whole...

I only noticed view getting all watery when going through a waterfall. Do you get that, or do you really get no "camera" water effects at all?

i'll try it out next time im near one but looking at that video i posted shortly after where i am in the screen shot at 6:22 she walks through some water and it splashes drops on the screen, which doesn't happen in mine, i don't think ive noticed and blood on screen when i get hurt either

Yup so just intentionaly got shot up and not a single drop of blood on the screen, doesn't show the directional blood marks on the sides of the screen either, now i'm getting irritated that all this is missing. Then again it's only what 29 hours since release here on east coast so maybe this will be fixed with patches and driver updates. Just makes me want to not play until the game looks as it should :\

interesting, you're on a radeon as well, so it's missing on both nvidea and radeon, it's still possible it's a driver issue but it may very well be an issue with the game itself :\. now that i watch throught the entire video i'm noticing a lot of visual effects missing. even the scene where she's parachuting through the treeline is very much effected by sun rays and lens flares which make it much more beautiful looking than without them. strange how much just that can effect the entire scenery as a whole. now i understand why jj abrams used so many in star trek lmao

It looks like the actual sun is missing from the picture....

Same to me

Really bad port :|
XDeathxReconX Mar 6, 2013 @ 11:39am
Yeah it seems the sun itself is not even present in the game :\

I actually noticed this myself yesterday while playing and then ran across a post on another forums (can't recall which one, but I think it was the offical TR forums). Anyhow! If you run the game in Bordered windowed mode the effects all reappear! However, if you run in Fullscreen or Exclusive Fullscreen, they will dissapear no matter what.

So as of now it seems that if you want these effects you're going to have to put up with ugly borders around your game window. It's a shame too, because the small effects really help to blend the picture together, as there are quite a number of them that are missing from the screen. Hopefully this will get fixed in the upcoming patch and/or drivers.

I am curious how many people are actually having this issue though, and don't realize that their game could actually look even better than it does :p

Agreed, I don't thik people realize they arent there, but once you know, it can never be unknown lol. What does Exclusive Fullscreen even mean?

pff... seriously? A bad port cmon dude, it's precisely not a bad port and small camera effects should not stop you from playing this gorgeous game. You can't just say because a picture or demo says that you will see these beautiful effects on your camera, then it's a bad port but it's not. This game was amazing from start to end and im going back soon to explore the rest of the island, with or without these effects. It's not like your eyes will pop out or your inner tomb raider soul will die because of these "missing" effects.
