At first, I was a little worried how Square Enix would handle it- would Lara end up being an emo anti-hero, like Cloud, Squall, and so many other countless Square Enix heros to count...
However, they kept it real. LoL! I feel (that should be italicized) Lara's trauma and evolution. I want to give her a blanket and hot cocoa when I see her shiver. I want to coach her on when she, herself, is telling herself, "You can do this" as she cross an unstable platform. It is both written and acted (Lara, at least) very well, in my eyes. And I think they FINALLY made a Lara women can be proud of. She is in no way overly sexualized. I think this is the closest any game has gotten to portraying a real female heroine (I'm thinkin' the only others were Buffy Summers and Rubi Malone- again, not the "play this game just to see my boobs jiggle" kinda dames). hehe- bewbs. (o)(o). Sorry. couldn't resist! ;)
The only problem I've had was her hair on TessFX. Totally wonked my game. took it off, and it ran super smooth and it looks g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.!
Very happy Lara's back- and even though she's new, she still represents the Lara of yore. Digging the combat! Love the grit and dirt (and blood) they finally brought here- I imagine Lara WOULD get banged up pretty badly in them tombs.
I, personally, feel like this is THE TR game to finally put the age old question to rest- "Really, how relevant is Lara Croft to video games- aside from being a sex symbol?"
She's human. And she's in a kicka$z game!
Such a farcry from the other games in the series but Im cool with that its fresh and very adventurous!
