yes, the main action buttons are E and F, one is for quick pressing buttons, and other is for one time action, like a kick, etc. sorry, I play with controller.
Anyway, you should see the HUD telling what key press.

when the display appears "press f" it does not mean that you should press it now. because it will fail that way. u need to wait until that display changes color from red to green. thats just half of a second or even less. so need to get a feeling for the right moment

It's mash arrows, F (timed with the circles) then mash E (hand) then mash F (exclamation mark)

when laura gets knocked down on her side push f she will raise her leg and then you will see white circles release the f and wait till circle turns red push f immediately to keck then press e when you see the hand quitly and then press the f when it says to defend

E is the mash key. F is not. With F, you wait until an exclamation mark appears in the little circle, then pound that sucka straight through the keyboard.

Actually, in this QTE you do mash F. It goes Timed Button Press (F), quick mash Action Key (E), Mash F.

It's one of only a handful where you have to mash F instead of time it right.

Thank you everyone. I figured out that i had to wait for the action item to appear on the screen before reacting. i got safe back to Roth and will now climb with the new climbing gear Roth hands to Lara. Thank you all.

Yeah, mash Mouse 4, or USE keys. The circle gets smaller until you press when they match the inner ring.

Hey, rather than explain WHY I facepalmed, I just facepalmed. It was the lesser of two evils, but I just couldn't let that slide.
