Thanks! I went with the gamepad. Used it for the first three hours so far and I'm definitely going to continue using it through the entire game. The gamepad controls for this game feel perfect. I feel like keyboard and mouse would just feel clunky and unnatural for this game's gameplay.
The part I love about gamepads, though, is the ability to highten the drama by... wait for it.... by WALKING! Omg, it's such a seemingly small thing but makes a game that little bit more engrossing! xD Not to mention some games don't even have a walk option for keyboard control. lol
Have fun!
That being said, I play this with the contorller. It just feels...I don't know...it feels more natural than keyboard+mouse. Also, there are times in an adventure game like this when certain waking/jumping dynamics are better/more precicely controlled with a controller than WASD-Space.
I just started playing this game last night. I put about 3 hours into it and I didn't had one instance when I considered switching to keybard+mouse. If an endorsement from a die-hard keyboard+mouse player doesn't mean somethihg, then I don't know what does.
P.S. I love this game
That said, its fantastic on Gamepad too, except for less accurate aiming of course.
This is really a game that I could use either in.
That said, on Gamepad I feal as if Im
A) more mobile in combat, jumping around and such, and
B) Less accurate and less effective overall.
With mouse I perform more realistically, more quick aiming and shooting with less movement. Since I have worse aim with gamepad, I end up moving around alot more to avoid shots.
I honestly don't know which I prefer.
Hahaha I totally agree! I've spent most of the game so far walking and taking in the beautiful environments. Only times I run are during moments when it's practically required.
multiplay: keyboard+mouse
Thank you! And I'm with you 100%. I practically HAVE to play FPS games with keyboard and mouse, but for third-person action-adventure games like this, so far the controller feels so much more natural.
That's actually a really good idea, thanks!
I was wondering how gamepad would hold up in multiplayer. Sounds like I might end up using keyboard and mouse when I do multiplayer, to be more responsive and accurate. Thanks!
Based on what I've read and experienced so far, it seems like gamepad is much better and smoother for navigation and exploring, while keyboard and mouse is better for more responsive and accurate aiming in intense gunfights. I'll keep both in mind. Thank you!
But for shooters I use both PS Move navigation controller (for moving and stuff) and mouse. Never used a KB for movement and other controls cuz it'a awfull way to play.
