How can I check ping before joining a game?

As an example for dota: CMD> "ping vie.valve.net -t" and it shows my ping to that server.

I don't think it's a supported feature.

I can play many online games such as DOTA 2, WoW, Diablo 3 without any ping issues, but this one is very laggy (sometimes, not every time).
