In terms of what?
If you're referring to BF4, developed by DICE, they are having no problems with their pre-order numbers...on both current and next-gen systems. There's a good reason for this that is self-evident. Go do some research.
so why not? :)
There are plenty of other Activision published games that harbor nasty issues as well. What's your point?
SimCity 2013 is not in direct competition to Ghosts. BF4 is. Learn to keep a conversation in proper context.
There isn't a Ghosts forum yet, so this CoD forum is the next best thing. Not to mention there are numerous other Ghosts topics in this forum. I suggest you go police those topics as well.
Agreed.
But and there's more to it as well.
There's an IW dev vid floating around on YT where IW explicity states that they are trying to fix the lag compensation issues found it BLOPS2, but it's a hard issue to fix within the confines of the engine. And that they are using the same matchmaking system.
Well...perhaps if they utilized the BILLIONS of dollars made from this franchise to actually develop a new engine with an online infrustructure that truly supports the gameplay, they would fare better.
But wait...that can't happen as they stated developing a new engine would take 200 engineers! LOL
They really think most people are that stupid. Yeah, 200. Sure. Go ask DICE how many programmers they required to develop their own in-house engines. They either believe that people are that stupid or they have some highly incompetent people managing their internal resouces.
Based on those continual trends...next-gen consoles would have nothing to do with affecting Ghosts' dismal pre-order numbers.
What it simply means is of those that are buying next-gen consoles, most see the better game in BF4 and the majority of those sticking with current-gen for now simply don't care about Ghosts. They've had enough...especially after BLOPS2 leaving a bad taste in their mouths with all its perpetual issues.
You bet it does! Same lag compensation issues. Interesting isn't it?
As consoles utilize P2P matchmaking...and while PC utilizes a hybrid of console matchmaking with some poorly optimized "dedicated server" infrustructure...the PC version exhibits the same exact lag compensation issues.
Yay!
