Can you please help me out. It's a bit frustrating..
Hello sorry for spamming about this problem. I've read the other topics related to my issues but still I can't figure it out. EQ II is runing horrible on my computer. Here are his characteristics:

NVIDIA GeForce 310M
Intel(R) HD Graphics
Processor: Intel(R) Core TM i3 CPU M370 2.40Ghz
RAM: 4 gb

I am really low on fps and I even lower everything to minum and it's still going like that. Please help cause I have no idea what to do. The video card drivers are up to date, just to mention :D Thanks in advance.

You dont really have a GPU (its an intigrated card) and you have horribly slow CPU threads. The best way to run EQ2 well is to have a solidish GPU with over 512MB VRAM and a decentish CPU core speed (a dual core a 4.0GHz will run this game better than a quadcore at 2.8).

If you can set the GPU, the 310m is faster than the Intel HD on that laptop. Upping your ram speed (like from ddr3 1066 to ddr3 1600) will give you a good speed increase as your GPU doesn't have its own RAM, it shares with the system.

In the BIOS somewhere or in the drivers (Maybe? I haven't used the 3xxm nvidia series) there will be a way to set how much ram your GPU have access to. Find out how to do this for your system and set it to max. The more RAM your GPU has the more textures it can hold.

The sad truth is you either have a laptop that is to bad to play the game or you have a prebuilt desktop that is pretty budget. If it is a laptop all you can do is up the RAM. If you have a desktop find out if you have a PCI-e 16x slot. If you have that slot check your power supply (The box with all the wires coming out of it) for 6 and 8 pin PCI-e connectors. If you have any, make note of it, and buy a new GPU. If you have a 6 pin PCI-e power connector then go buy yourself a AMD radeon HD 7850 or Nvidia 750ti. On sale it'll set you back like 100-150$, but you can actually play games again with that.

If you are a laptop person, and you buy budget laptops and want to play games let me reccomend picking up a recent AMD APU (A series) based laptop. You can get a new quadcore CPU/GPU combo (called an APU, it has its own graphics on the proc) laptop for about 500$. Less on sale. Now these aren't the best laptops, but if you are a cheap bastard that wants to game they can't be beat.

I hope this helps in some way.
Hey, SlightlyMental. This game is really poorly optimized for current technology and relies instead mostly on single-core CPU strength. We tried installing it on a mid-range PC and had unplayablly low FPS, but due to the game's architecture closing any unnecessary background applications should result in a *dramatic* performance boost. The PC we tested it on that lagged so badly on the lowest settings was able to run the highest settings markedly well once background tasks had been closed. In fact, we even opted to run it directly (not through Steam) so we could kill that too. For reference, the PC we tested on had a great graphics card and could run modern games and MMOs on decent settings without any issues.

In short, close ALL programs you're not using and that should make all the difference. :)
Thanks a lot man will do. I changed the setings to "higher perfrormance" and everything is ok now but I will try this with the programs. Thanks in advance.
You try the Extreme Performance option?
