Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2

32-bit mode error
is anyone else getting the "Desktop is not set to 32-bit mode, unable to continue!" error during the boot up before the game even starts?

Did a google search, plenty of people are having this problem (including myself) and there is no solution for steam users...

If it's at all still a problem, I have found a possible solution.
You need to change your display settings from 16 bit to 32 bit.
In XP, you just need to right click on your desktop and go to display settings and change it under "settings"
In Win 7 (or 8, I'm nost sure on that), you'll need to go to display settings, screen resolution and click on the "advanced settings" link. There in a new window, you go to the monitor tab and there should be a drop down menu there where you can change your desktop bit colour to 32 bit.
I hope this helps

Why would you not be running your display in 32 bit color in the first place?

I am running on 32 bit but it still gives me this notification (yes I am asking two years later) I just downloaded this Farcry2 again and it is giving me this message even though I am running 32-bit.
