Deleting Limbs?
Greetings!

Because the Source Filmmaker's only in Beta, it's clearly prone to glitches. One glitch I encountered was that certain vertices would spontaneously vanish! As if they were deleted, for I couldn't see them when ctrling in the viewport. I figure that this glitch could be useful, if anyone knows how to apply this, please let me know!

I've never come across something like that, but you could always rotate the limbs into the torso if you are looking for someway to hide limbs
It could be useful if there was a way to control it. I thought if you could find a way to remove the no-texture texture might be able to do it that way. But I haven't been able to find the texture.

If you render out the video are they still missing?
Vertices? Do you mean joints? Totally different thing...

I've never seen joints just disappear, so I don't know what bug you mean. Unless you mean how finger joints tend to become unselectable when using a rig script.You can make joints unselectable and invisible in Ctrl view by clicking the arrow shaped thingy on their left in the Animation Set Editor.
Not unselectable, they simply vanish. Sadly, I didn't render out any photographic evidence of this happening. It happened to me twice, I believe, each time was from when I was messing around with the Motion Editor, if/when it happens again, I'll render a screenshot and plop it here. Maybe I'll press random keys on my keyboard and see what happens.

And as far as my wordchoice goes, in truth, I meant both. Bits 'n' pieces of the model vanished, along with the joint corresponding to it.
This sounds more like a texture problem than things disappearing... Do you remember what model it was, was it a custom content model or just one of the regulars available in SFM?
Interesting... Definitely post a screenshot of that if it happens again. I'm curious.

It was the default hwm\heavy model, oddly enough!
Custom map or map that came with SFM? (stranger and stranger) And did you start the project BEFORE the last update?

Koth_King, and it was post update!
Sorry guys, I can't replicate this, I've loaded King, and both the hwm and player models of the soldier. Pushed them through a whole series of animations and made a few custom animations of my own and added them to the batch (only a 60 second routine though). The soldier stays in tack and animates properly. I do not lose any limbs or bones in the animation.
Sure they aren't just snapping out of view? like lost inside the model? Had that happen before especially using the rotation tool. it can be fickle.
Yea, I was watching for that too, but that doesn't sound like the situation described. Hope he can post a screen shot of it. I'm interested.
