Render Model unaffected by placed lights?
Hello, I've been trying to use particles to create a scene more easily, but I noticed that the models spawned by them don't seem to be affected by lights you place.
Is there a way to make these models react to lights you place?

No. - Edit: Wait, models spawned by particles? I thought you meant sprite particles. I don't know, then. I think there was something about there having to be a normal spawned model in the scene as well?

I spawned a normal model, set up a coloured light and used the particle. The normal model was affected by the light, the particle ones still weren't.

Hm. Then don't use particles to spawn models. That's all I can say. Someone else might know what's going on, though.

The Source engine was built back before the days of PhysX or Mantle, the particle/physics simulation engines that you see in many AAA games nowadays. Thus, light will not create shadows for particles. I'm hoping either those physics engines or more likely, a recent version of the Havok engine, being integrated into Source 2.
