SFM Problem that no one has....

I was on SFM for the first time, i was trying to make pictures but then after a few days i lost all my maps except the lighting map (which has problems) and i lost most of the models too.....


I also don't know how to get new models for SFM.....


If you know how to fix the first one, PLEASE tell me! because i want to do some SFM pictures and other SFM stuff.

I think only one of my problems will be fixed....

^ Probably your solution to the first problem.

For the second one, you can either download models from the workshop (Steam will automatically place the files at the right locations) or you can port models from other games and the GMod community. Anything with flexes would require a recompile with fixes. This community hub has guides and other discussions to all the above.

Nope, every new person goes through this... Can't find maps or models phase. It's why I still have these pictures on Imgur... in case "I" forget... lol

Do you do a certain thing to get the models? because i went to Steam workshop (SFM section)
and subscribed to the items i want in SFM and they showed something in the menu which i didn't know what it was....And i couldn't find the models afterwards....

Well it only shows accessories....There aren't any models...

SFM will prompt you about downloading the workshop files after you subscribe, you might have to restart SFM. Once you accept the download prompt in SFM, the stuff will show up in the workshop mod.

So does that mean you have to accept the save file thing? cause i did and they didn't pop up the first time....(I'm trying again)

If you sub to a "SFM" Workshop item, you will be prompt during your current session or the next time you use SFM to download the items. SFM will put the stuff into the proer folders and it will be available for use immediately after the download completes.

I don't know about the proper steam folder.....don't really know how to do all that (I sound very stupid..)

Luckily you don't need to know much about that if you're getting assets for your film off of the workshop.

Well it doesn't sound like much....i just don't know how to do that....(Complicated things are easier to learn for me while simple things are harder for me to learn...e.g. It took me 11 years to learn how to whistle while i always remember how to do valence electrons)

been 57 for me and I still can't whistle
