There's actually a few maps in the L4D2 workshop that do something like this.
So if I wanted to have a scene inside a house at night, I would have to turn down the toneMapScale for the entire scene, and then manually add a light inside the house?
The first shot in this video of mine is a competent enough example, but I forgot to disable the map's fog for the final render so the sky looks weird.
That looks great. How exactly do you light the exterior scenes with a big dark blue light? And where does the light need to be put?

I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong. Not to mention, the lights make moving the camera around laggy as heck.
I stumbled across this method of changing the skybox and lowering toneMapScale, and I'm curious if anyone else uses this method:

I've use skyboxes before and it works great. I don't know aobut toneMapScale.
