Source filmmaker closes when I open session?!
So I needed to put in a extension cord so i could plug in a charger and laptop. I save my session then close sfm then I shut down my laptop. I figured it's good enough and I unplugged it. After I set up the cords I went back to sfm. I tried to open the session I was doing before but it says loading session etc etc for a couple of seconds then sfm just....closes. then the steam advertisement thing pops up. WHAT IS GOING ON?!!!!? DID I REALLY LOSE ALL THAT PROGRESS?!

Why turn it off and then plug it in instead of just plugging it in? You do realize laptops (usually) run at least a little better when connected to a charger, too, right?

I forgot to mention my laptop is on life support. it has a messed up battery. if it gets unplugged it turns off automatically
Then why unplug it in the first place?
If you saved the project and it now crashes SFM when you attempt to load it, it's most likely corrupt. Either you didn't wait long enough after saving it to turn your computer off (though that should only be a problem if you jut cut the power off instead of properly shutting it down, which you shoud ideally never do), or you messed something up in the project.

Even if you didn't save a backup or an autosave though, all may not be lost. Perhaps Windows' buit-in previous versons system has got your back.
