I think Steam downloads the workshop stuff, and then Source FilmMaker installs it. I don't know if the files Steam downloads are "loose" so you can just move them over or not, but I know that Source FilmMaker needs Steam running to verify what things you are subscribed to on the workshop in order to install the right stuff automatically.

@Zappy : Damn It... Thanks anyway
In a nutshell, if you want workshop functionality, then you have to have Steam running.
If you don't want to download anything from the workshop and you don't want Steam running while running SFM, simply go to your Library, select Software, right-click on Source Filmmaker, click Properties, click Set Launch Options button and add "-nosteam" (without the quotes) to your launch parameters and then you can run SFM without Steam starting up.

Again, if you do this, you WILL NOT have workshop access...

Then may I suggest a couple of sites that don't require Steam?
SFMLab[sfmlab.com]
DeviantArt[www.deviantart.com]

Of course, with these you will have to manually install everything, but this way you won't have to use Steam...

Checking
I'm looking for fnaf models honestly (only cause I do robot animations cause complete skin is not my strong suit) any suggestions?
Other than the SFM workshop and the Garry's Mod workshop, both of which require Steam to be running to download and update them, I really don't know anywhere else to get FNAF models.

You can also use Steam Workshop Downloader to download any workshop models you'd like to get. I can't link the site here otherwise it'll get flagged up,but Google will easily find it for you. Simply copy the workshop link into the site, and it'll convert the content into a .zip file you can download.

Call me crazy, but isn't this against the Valve Terms of Service?
Some of the assets on the workshop require you to own the game that they come from, and you normally can't download them through Steam if you don't own the game.
If this circumvents that "security" then you may have a problem with Valve in your future.

Do what you wish, just thought I'd give ya a "head's up", something to think about BEFORE you get in any trouble... lol

Yeah, I believe a formerly regular forum poster once got banned from the discussions for mentioning it.
just in case anyone having a similar problem and still stumbles upon this post (as I did today)...
I found a solution, you can download steam workshop items for anything on this site http://steamworkshopdownloader.com
Yeah, and get banned for violating Valve's Terms of Service in the process... :steamfacepalm:

Just because you CAN do it doesn't always mean you SHOULD do it.
