Yes; however, because Mass Effect is an older title it cannot be done normally through the Origin Client or Origin.com website and must instead be done through one of the following links after logging into your EA/Origin account:
https://activate.ea.com/gameactivation.do
or
https://activate.ea.com/applyentitlement.do
You can retrieve your Key by finding Mass Effect in your library and clicking CD Key. After you register the game on the EA Game Activation page with the same EA account you use with Origin you should try refreshing your Game Library on Origin or simply restarting the client and the game should appear with a NEW banner across it.
Mass Effect 2 can be registered in the Origin Client by following the common procedure:
Open Origin --> Origin --> Redeem Product Code...

Also be sure to use your Cerberus Key to unlock extra missions and Zaeed from the BioWare entitlements page if you haven't done so already:
http://social.bioware.com/user_entitlements.php
DLC must be installed via installers for Steam and can be accessed from the DLC tab in Origin (DLC in Origin cannot be used for a copy of the game that isn't installed by Origin.)
And Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky DLC can be installed from the following location for both Steam and Origin versions:

from what i've read we can contact EA support, a simple chat would suffice and they'll convert it to an Origin usable key, thing is, i've been staring at this chat support for an hour now and still no chat :(
+1
I did and they have activated the game for me. I also received -15% discount code on my next purchase. Say what you want about EA, but their customer support is top notch. Except... for yesterday... when the whole EA support page was broken.
and told me to contact steam support, anyone encountered this as well?
