Spore for Mac?

I'm interested in purchasing this game while it's on sale, but I'm a Mac user, so that obviously doesn't help. I know this game was available on Mac in disc form, I used to have it, so why is this a PC-only title? Are there any plans for a Mac release?

It's not a 'PC only' title, that icon only represents support for the OS. There is already support for Mac and there always was.

Wait...does this apply to every game on Steam? I'm relatively new to this, so sorry if I am a nuisance. Any game with the Windows icon can be played on the Mac?

No, what i'm trying to say is that it can be ran, but there is a chance that it may not work as intended. With spore, this is not the case, it is fully supported, and will work.

I just bought spore for my mac and when i go to install it says it isn't available for my platform, so that means it can only run on windows........ Can i please have my money back!!

I'm trying to install spore on a mac desktop with mac os x 10.9.2, Ive got it downloaded and all but every time I click on the icon it just shows the spore title with the white background with all the creatures and spaceships on it. Then it disappears 2 seconds later and nothing else happens. If someone could help me out with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Listen, the steam version of spore only runs on windows ok. But, if you bought the disk or bought it online at the official website, then it will run on the mac platform
