Getting Crysis to run in 64-bit
O.k so here is the fix, grab the Bin64 file here, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71527378/Bin64.zip
Unzip it and paste it into the following directory where you have steam installed Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis
In this folder, do the following.
Rename the Bin32 file to Bin32.bak
Now rename the Bin64 file you downloaded to Bin32
You can now running Crysis in 64-bit.
This is from another post, i hope it helps you! It worked for me!
It runs, screen goes black and then just doesn't work, as if it is loading and then just stops, I have to task Manager my way out of there and get an error "Crysis has stopped Working".
I'm sorry that I'm not the most Tech-savvy but damn I've tried a lot of things, nearly corrupted my entire games directory in the process, not to mention having to re-install Steam :/
Sort your stuff out Steam, this is not acceptable, or EA, Whoever.
How hard can it be to sort this out?
I hope this works for me?
I used that file from above and did what was instructed to do, however, the game would not even load so, I removed that file, renamed the original bin32 file back from bin32.bak and closed the folder. I then, reverified the cache files and restarted the game and voila`, the game runs fine. Just been playing it for the past 30 minutes to see if anything would go wrong. All is just fine.
Idk what else I done but, it's running and it looks great! :)
But now, got mine working just right. Boots up fine all 32 bit in 64 bit Windows 8 pro. Full Screen etc.
I just got rid of my gamesaves folder from old playing on WIn 7 or XP and started fresh as stated in one guys line in the forum. WORKS.
Warhead, Wars have bin64 folder and ran before but show up as 32 bit in my Windows 8 64 bit. I added the downloaded bin64 for Crysis and added the GL.ini and paul.dll to it from former 32 bit and left both folders in there not renaming like Warhead and Wars. This might or might NOT have helped .. but WHAT REALLY helped was renaming my Crysis folder with Profiles and game saves in MY DOCUMENTS/MY GAMES/CRYSIS to Crysis Old and letting the game create a new one. I had run it before on WIn7 and got a little bit into it with ATI cards ..now Nvidia. When changes to graphics or keyboard are made I DO have to be patient and wait a full minute or so for it to kick in and not ALT TAB OUT AND END TASK which screwed it up for me before.
