FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MIGHT ENCOUNTER THIS ISSUE:
The short answer? you can't run it under the steam software and that means NOTHING will be recorded on your steam account.
SOLUTION?
1) Download the Bin64 version of Crysis if you are on any x64 system, The original one is only for x32. That 64 version is available as a seperate download which then you have to copy to your Crysis folder next to the game's default Bin32 folder. you can find the binaries on internet, if you search for it.
2) After copying the folder, Go to Crysis installation path and open the Bin64, you'll notice that there are two files, Crysis.exe and Crysis64.exe.
3) Here is the trick, Crysis64.exe wouldn't work! basically you'll end up with "this program stoped working" after a black screen.
Workaround?
First give administrator rights to all the .exe files in Bin32 and Bin64 folders, Then MAKE SURE STEAM IS CLOSED by checking the taskbar hidden icons or you'll get "could not write liscence data". After that close your antivirus program or add the Crysis.exe to exclusion files in your antivirus software. Run the Crysis.exe (not Crysis64.exe) by right clicking on the file (not the shortcut) and choosing "Run As Administrator".
To simplify the game execution each time you want to play, you can go to your desktop and then right click->new->shortcut->navigate to Crysis.exe inside of Bin64 folder and choose that file.
Next right click on this newly created shortcut and navigate to Properties->Shortcut tab->Advanced button->check Run As Administrator
Click OK and close the windows. Now each time you want to play just double click the shortcut on your desktop.
1 - Close Steam
2 - Search your hard drive for Crysis.exe (mine was in Steam\SteamApps\common\Crysis)
3 - Right Click and Run as Administrator
In my case, I own the DVD so it wasn't purchased through Steam even though I have the game in my Steam library now.
There are plenty of fixes on the forums, read them try them, one of them will work, if you cannot be arsed, fair enough thats on you, your the only one who is missing out on this great game.
2. Crysis.exe right click - properties - compatibility - Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)
3 Run as administrator
play?
