Genuinely think we're gonna get the update right before the game hits two years. They're gonna drop the update a week before the deadline of their promise hits and go radio silent. Utterly embarrassing to be this disconnected from your audience that desperately wants to know the state of your game.

Why even bother making a promise like that if you're not gonna talk about it? It alienates everyone that ever supported you overtime. That's just apathy, and apathy is death. It's a terrible look overall for the devs. Are they working on it? Is it cancelled? What's the state it's in right now? Will we be expecting some info soon? WHO KNOWS. We get bread crumbs to chew on, and infer from indirect actions from the devs as "communication." A simple blog post would suffice. Many games do exactly that, or something similar because they are aware of the importance of COMMUNICATION to their playerbase. Don't expect another word out of these devs till their two year due date comes along. The whole development process is one thing. Flat out refusing to communicate with your fans about your bare bones concept of a game you never meant to finish is stupid. This game is going to be forgotten due to dumb negligence. So evident that after Boneworks, they prayed on modders to finish their game so they wouldn't have to lift a finger. Goes without saying now.

Genuinely wanted to see this game grow, because this game feels extremely great to immerse yourself in. This game could have been an actual gem. It's a real shame that this was meant to be a shameless cash grab. You'd think after the beautiful success of Boneworks, they would excel at building upon what made that game great. NOPE. Just a husk of a game. Intentionally released the game unfinished, and now is working on an update that should have been in the game at launch. Can't even consider the possibility of multiplayer apparently, even though modders EASILY implemented it into the game. In a better reality, this game would release this year or the next in a completed state, WITH content. Seeing this game just dwindle into nothing after seeing the potential it had is infuriating on ALL levels. Incompetence. All that needs to be said.

EDIT: We finally got SOMETHING in the form of tweets. Apparently, multiple patches, includuing 4, 5 6, 7, 8 and 9 are going to be implemented in next month if there aren't any delays. Not all at once, but they will put it into the game they say. Still no excuse. Why was this posted onto Twitter of all places? Why not, you know, Steam? Something actually direct and official? The tweets don't really elaborate too much. They just state that, "A year of foundational work was needed to make way for them all." Literally said by one of the lead developers, Brandon. This still doesn't even come close to excusing the fact that the devs have had no respect towards their fans. What I said before still stands.

This was the closest thing we got to an actual official date of any kind after the promise they made a year and a half ago. Because of the lack of communication of any kind, it has effectively killed this game. Seriously, why even release the game as early as they did if it was gonna take this long to make it all work? That's because it was meant to be a bare bones, uninspired cash grab. They only made their promise to deliver something post launch, BECAUSE of how barren the game is. People that have some kind of vr will check out the update when it comes out, like anything else in this world, and then just leave it to rot for the rest of eternity. If this game actually was planned and developed ahead of time, with all the improvements they claim the game will have, this game's legacy would have left a huge impact. Too bad now known as the hollow, bare-bones sandbox that the devs left the community to carry. This will significantly impact the look for their next game as well. Nice going guys! I was wrong about the date it was going to be released, but looks like the devs did it yet again, and actually confirmed something IMPORTANT after months of just nothing. What's even funnier, is that "Patch 4" was claimed to be finished and was ready to go, but was on standby. Now it's apparently not finished, and they have to tweak it around the mods so nothing breaks. The mods make the game, so when that goes, everyone is gonna peal in two seconds. All along with the other "Patches" or whatever that means because these devs don't talk to us. Talk about inconsistency.

Seriously wish this game would actually get the love it deserves. When you play, you just realize that the game is half baked, and we are all waiting on promises that we all probably know are gonna be lackluster, and ruin every mod along the way. As a fan of this game since it came out, it's sickening seeing the negligence. The Marrow Engine is quite literally beautiful. Getting to interact in it, especially with friends is seriously an unforgettable experience. This game is easily up there for me vr wise, and that is why it boils my blood thinking about the state this game is in. This game is so fun, and everyone else who actually has played this would also agree. This game just has no content whatsoever. With developers that are completely silent to this degree, it breaks your faith in the game. Until things actually look better again, This review will not change. I have never felt more compelled to give my piece on something so stupid.

TLDR: Developers FAIL to communicate on a critical level to their fans about their plans on a promise they made a year and a half ago.

the campaign is lackluster as all hell.
but modding is a damn breeze.
not to mention fusion the multiplayer mod that has entertained me with my friends with dumb moments.
